The Geschwader (Tactical Air Force Wing 33, abbreviated as 'TaktLwG 33' ) is based in Büchel (near Spangdahlem) and operates the Tornado IDS under its Kommodore, Oberst Thomas Schneider. The additional Eurofighters to be purchased will be operated in the electronic warfare role
