Swedish Air Force 100th Anniversary Flygvapnet Airshow

".. The airshow held at Malman Air Base promised to be one of 2026 most eagerly anticipated aviation events. Thankfully COAP's early morning Spotter Access and parking proved effortless, once on base it's fair to say the 235,000 attendees were not disappointed. Numbers like this are reminiscent of regular airshows in Japan. COAP's attendance on Friday 21st August 'Spotters Day' offered an opportunity to capture some very 'up close' and almost personal access to the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight with a mere handful of photographers at the fence opposite the live flight line! Knowing full well some of the SwAFHF types operational days & flight hours are numbered unobstructed access offered a perfect opportunity to capture some rather special SAAB aviation heritage imagery. Airbourne action capture proved more challenging with a less than ideal flying display axis and mixed weather, cloud structures made for some rather 'moody' imagery working with the light on base Saturday and outside Sunday. What. A. Weekend. .."
